October's Yogi of the Month!
Cathy Len has been selected this month for yogi of the month.
We are pleased to introduce to you Cathy Len. For those of you who do not know, she is a familiar and friendly member of the hyk family. She attends regularly and is always open and willing to share her radiant energy. We are proud to have her as a part of our studio and we are honored she chooses HYK.
How long have you been practicing?
5 years. It feels like longer!
Why did you start practicing yoga?
Raising three active children was stressful at times – I realized I needed an outlet for myself, to wind down and relax. Madonna featured yoga as her favorite exercise and raved about its benefits, so I decided to give it a try. After my very first class, I knew it was perfect for me.
Do you have any advice for others on how you make time for your practice?
I make time for yoga by prioritizing it as a part of my daily routine. Starting my mornings at HYK help to fuel my days.
How does yoga benefit your life/affect your every day life?
Because of yoga, I am able to invest in myself in a positive way that helps me stay focused and calm. I am able to face all challenges with a clear mind.
What is your favorite thing that HYK offers you?
HYK offers me opportunities to grow, learn and be challenged. The teachers are encouraging and knowledgeable, and my classmates are friendly and supportive. I feel like it’s one big family!
